In 2021, a two-story clinic in Algeria bought a 20P air source heat pump and 10 ultra-thin fan coil units. They consulted local HVAC experts to design and assess cooling capacity. These experts determined a cooling capacity of 230KW for a single room.

After putting the system into use, the clinic reported that most rooms were comfortable, but one room was excessively hot in summer and extremely cold in winter. They inquired if it was a product quality issue.

Our YESNCER technical team investigated the situation:

  1. We considered the possibility of cooling capacity issues with a single unit.
  2. Among the 10 rooms, nine had satisfactory results, eliminating the possibility of inadequate power in our ultra-thin fan coil units.
  3. We analyzed each room’s installation and usage, including consistent thermal insulation, sunlight exposure, and window sizes.

The feedback from the customer revealed that the installation environment and usage conditions in the other nine rooms were relatively similar. However, one room stood out—it had floor-to-ceiling windows along the entire wall, made of single-layer tempered glass. Although these windows were structurally strong, they had poor insulation. Additionally, this room had unobstructed sunlight exposure and the longest duration of daylight.

Our Conclusion: The fan coil’s cooling capacity was insufficient to meet the demands of this specific room, and the purchased fan coil unit had low power, resulting in inadequate indoor comfort.

Our Solution:

  1. Replace the fan coil unit with a higher-power model.
  2. Add a fan coil unit with the same power, allowing both units to work simultaneously to meet the indoor cooling needs of this room.
